Who We Are:
We are a community volunteer group formed to protect, care for, weed, and revegetate the area historically known as Ashburton Forest. Our group grew out of Boroondara Council's Backyard Biodiversity Program. We formed in June 2011 and are currently working on weeding and revegetating 2 sites, the small reserve at 88 Ashburn Grove and a reserve in Clifford Close Ashburton [melways Ref.60 D11]
Our working bees are held once a month on a Sunday from 10-12. We welcome everyone. Our working bees are very social with plenty of time for a chat and morning tea at the end of the working bee.
We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land where Ashburton Forest stands, and their continuing connection to the land, waters, and culture of this region. We wish to pay respect to the Elders of the Wurundjeri-Baluk people past and present. Sovereignty was never ceded.
